Rico Perez is a director and executive producer who has worked extensively over the past years with major streaming platforms on projects such as Brincando Com Fogo and É o Amor: Família Camargo (Netflix), Queen Stars Brasil and Gêmeas Trans (HBO Max). He also led Paramount+’s international production hub in Colombia, overseeing localized versions for multiple territories—including the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and Mexico—of formats such as Ex on the Beach and Dating Naked.
He is the co-creator and director of the first season of the original reality show Ilhados com a Sogra, one of Netflix Brazil’s biggest non-fiction hits. Among his most recent projects are Soltero Cotizado, an original Televisa Univisión format on which he served as showrunner and co-creator, and Poderosas do Cerrado, directed by him for GNT/Globoplay.
Originally trained as a journalist, Rico has worked in television for over 20 years. He began his career as a screenwriter before moving into directing. In 2004, at SBT, he transitioned into reality television and led several flagship formats for the network, including Supernanny, 10 Anos Mais Jovem, and Esquadrão da Moda. He also served as Creative Director at Fremantle Brazil, where he developed original concepts (such as Crimes.com for Discovery) and adapted international formats (including A Casa for Record TV).
