Ricardo Tiezzi is a writer and professor. He is the creator of the series Santo Maldito (Star+). He wrote the screenplay for Qualquer Gato Vira-Lata. He was also the screenwriter of Outro Lado do Paraíso, which won the Audience Award at the Gramado Film Festival in 2015 and Best Film and Student Jury’s Best Film at the Latin American Film Festival of Trieste. For television, he wrote for four seasons of the series Malhação (TV Globo), the last of which was nominated for an International Emmy Kids Award. He also wrote for the series Temporada de Verão (Netflix), Julie and the Phantoms (Band/Nickelodeon) — winner of the APCA Award and nominated for an International Emmy —, Agora Sim (Mixer/Sony), nominated for the APCA Award for Best Series, A Vida de Rafinha Bastos (Fox), Mothern (GNT), Mano a Mano (Rede TV), and the Christmas TV movie Amor ao Quadrado (Globo). He wrote for the animated version of Sítio do Picapau Amarelo (TV Globo) and the telenovela Floribella (Band). As a professor, he teaches audiovisual storytelling workshops at Roteiraria. He was also a professor and coordinator of the postgraduate program in screenwriting for film and television at FAAP, and a professor of creative writing. He currently teaches screenwriting in an undergraduate film program. He holds a Master’s degree in Cinema, Philosophy, and Religion from PUC-SP and is a PhD candidate in Literature and Literary Criticism. He has published short stories on Kindle, including Gordo Gato, Café na Estação, and A Vida que Esqueci. He is also the author of the chronicle collection O Primo de Deus, the crime novel O Sorriso da Morte, and the recently released novel Objetos na Penumbra.
