Patrícia Moretzsohn is a creator, head writer, and screenwriter. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she began her career in the TV Globo Script Workshop, where she worked from 1994 to 2002. After earning a degree in Literature from PUC-Rio, she spent time in France and Spain. Upon her return to Brazil, she wrote the successful telenovela “FLORIBELLA”, which aired for two seasons (2005 and 2006) on Band TV. Back at TV Globo, she worked on several major projects as a lead writer, including the telenovelas: “MALHAÇÃO VIDAS BRASILEIRAS” (2018), which won the ABRA Award for Best Telenovela Script, received two International Emmy nominations, and one nomination at the International Format Awards; “MALHAÇÃO CASA CHEIA” (2012), nominated for an International Emmy; and “MALHAÇÃO 2008”, winner of the Brazilian Youth Award. She is currently a PhD candidate in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at UERJ, where she is researching melodrama. She holds a Master’s degree in Literature from PUC-Rio and another in Hispanic-American and Spanish Literature from the University of Barcelona. She is also an occasional juror for the International Emmy Awards. At present, she is developing audiovisual projects for various players, as well as academic and fiction literature.
