LUCAS ABRAHÃO
Director — Screenwriter

Screenwriter and director working across multiple genres and formats. He holds a Master’s degree in Screenwriting with a full scholarship from the KinoEyes program, which takes place across Portugal, Scotland, and Estonia. He has written and directed short films selected for over 100 international film festivals. Among them are “MAPUTO”, which won four awards at the Gramado Film Festival, including the Kikito for Best Director, and “O ESTRANHO DESAPARECIMENTO DO CAMARADA KULIAKOV”, shot in Estonia and screened at festivals such as the Black Nights Film Festival and Brussels Film Festival. He co-wrote the horror feature “UPURGA” (Latvia, 2022) and the comedy “OS FIÉIS” (in post-production). He placed third in the FRAPA 2018 screenplay competition and won the Anonymous Content Brazil Award in 2023. He teaches at the Academia Internacional de Cinema (AIC – SP) and in the postgraduate screenwriting program at SENAC – SP. He was also a guest lecturer in screenwriting at the MFA in Creative Writing at Ashland University (USA). He has been selected for workshops such as the Núcleo Experimental de Cinema at MIS (2023), Berlinale Talents – Buenos Aires (2017), POWR Baltic Exchange (2018), Willapa Bay AiR (2019), and FAM (2024).

  • Kino Eyes Master’s degree with a specialization in Screenwriting – joint program across Universidade Lusófona (Portugal), Napier University (United Kingdom), and Baltic Film and Media School (Estonia)
  • Graduated in Image and Sound (Audiovisual) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil.
  • Master’s degree in Screenwriting from Kino Eyes – The European Fiction Film Master, a joint program between Universidade Lusófona (Portugal), Edinburgh Napier University (Scotland), and Baltic Film and Media School (Estonia). Recipient of a full scholarship.
