Lorenna Montenegro is a journalist, film critic, curator, screenwriter, and screenwriting professor at the International Film Academy (Academia Internacional de Cinema – AIC). She is a member of the Elviras Collective, ABRA (Brazilian Screenwriters Association), and Abraccine. She currently serves as General Secretary on the board of FORCINE – the Brazilian Forum for Film and Audiovisual Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, studied Audiovisual Production at PUCRS, and earned a specialization in Cinema and Audiovisual Language at Estácio de Sá University. Lorenna also teaches Documentary Screenwriting at Escola Superior de Artes Célia Helena, in the postgraduate Performing Arts program. She offers courses and workshops on film history and criticism, screenwriting and audiovisual narrative, construction of affirmative characters, the heroine’s journey, and feminist film studies – such as The Pioneers of Cinema, a course co-taught with film critic, cultural journalist, and documentary filmmaker Flavia Guerra. Lorenna is an international voter for the Golden Globe Awards and publishes reviews and film festival coverage on her blog Kinemacríticas.com. She also contributes to the newspaper Diário do Pará, through which she covered the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Since 2020, she has coordinated the As Amazonas do Cinema Film Festival.
