EMILIO BOECHAT
Screenwriter

Emilio Boechat has over 30 years of experience writing for radio, theater, film, television, and streaming platforms. He won the Bibi Ferreira Award for Best Original Book of a Musical (2023). His original works include the musicals: “NEY MATOGROSSO – HOMEM COM H”, “SILVIO SANTOS VEM AÍ”, “CAMILA BAKER – A SAGA CONTINUA”, and “EU ERA TUDO PRA ELA E ELA ME DEIXOU”; the film “BARRACO DE FAMÍLIA” (Paramount+); and the comedy series “A SECRETÁRIA DO PRESIDENTE” (Multishow). He co-wrote 3 of the 10 highest-grossing films in Brazilian cinema. Emilio is co-producer and head writer of the series “CAMILA BAKER”, inspired by his own play and awarded public funding through the Lei Paulo Gustavo in 2023 (currently in post-production). Alongside Miguel Falabella and Rosana Hermann, he wrote the miniseries “O SOM E A SÍLABA” and the second season of “O CORO – SUCESSO AQUI VOU EU” (Disney+). He was head writer of the second season of “NA FAMA, NA LAMA” (Multishow). He collaborated for three years with Ingrid Guimarães on the writing of “MULHERES POSSÍVEIS” (GNT). He created the docudrama “MARCAS DA VIDA” for Fremantle Media, later aired on Record TV. From 2005 to 2020, he was a screenwriter for Record TV, working on soap operas and miniseries. He was head writer of the telenovelas “GÊNESIS”, “APOCALIPSE”, and “REBELDE”. He also contributed to telenovelas such as “OS DEZ MANDAMENTOS”, “PECADO MORTAL”, “BELA, A FEIA”, “LUZ DO SOL”, and “FLORIBELLA”, among others. He is currently co-writing the musical about the life of Gal Costa (premiering in March 2026 at Teatro Santander) with Marilia Toledo.
