Daniel Belmonte is an actor, director, playwright, and screenwriter. He wrote, directed, starred in, and produced the feature films “B.O.” (winner of the Special Award Comedy Recognition at LABRFF) and “ÁLBUM EM FAMÍLIA” (screened in the competitive section of the 2021 Festival de Gramado). He was a writer for the TV shows “ZORRA” and “A GENTE RIU ASSIM” on Rede Globo, and wrote the feature film “DETETIVE MADEINUSA”, produced by Galeria Distribuidora. He is currently developing the original series “CURUMIM”, produced by Zazen and directed by Marcos Prado and José Padilha, for Max. For three years, he served as Head of Content and Development at Formata Produções e Conteúdo, supervising several projects, including “BETINHO – NO FIO DA NAVALHA”. He has two books published by Editora Patuá: Laura é um nome falso para alguém que eu amei de verdade and Cabeça pra fora do buraco. He is the director of the theater company Cia Involuntária, where he directed “PEÇA RUIM” (his own play), “UMA CARTA PERDIDA”, and “EDWARD BOND PARA TEMPOS CONTURBADOS”. He also wrote the play “QUANDO AS PESSOAS ANDAM EM CÍRCULOS” for Cia Artesanal and adapted “O MAMBEMBE”, in collaboration with Emílio de Mello and Gustavo Guenzburguer. As an actor, he has appeared in several films (“CONFISSÕES DE ADOLESCENTE”, “UMA PITADA DE SORTE”, “MISSÃO CUPIDO”), plays (including “OBSESSÃO” by Carla Faour, nominated for the Shell and APTR Awards), series (“VICKY E A MUSA”, “ME CHAMA DE BRUNA”, “BORGES”), TV shows (playing Reco in “MALHAÇÃO ID”), and over ten sketches for the YouTube channel “PORTA DOS FUNDOS”.
